Sonia began her humanitarian and development career in Bosnia Herzegovina in 1992 where she was the Country Director for an Irish NGO providing emergency supplies to children caught in the war.

Her career has spanned the full spectrum of humanitarian work from emergency relief to long term development across Europe, Asia, Africa and Syria/Syria affected countries. She has led large scale emergency responses, including Save the Children’s 2011/12 famine response in Somalia, established country programmes and managed teams of up to 450 people.

When she is ‘off the clock’, Sonia can be found enjoying new ways to relax.
