Grant Aid for the Forest Preservation Programme for the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire

The government of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire has received a grant of 1,500 million yen from the government of Japan for the provision of goods, works and services to strengthen the recipient’s forest preservation and management capacity, which are likely to include:

• Consultancy services to facilitate the rehabilitation of Park
• Undertaking civil works for the rehabilitation of Park*1

Eligible bidders shall be Japanese companies, incorporated and registered under Japan Law with their headquarters in Japan, and shall be controlled by Japanese physical persons. Any firms, who fall under any of the items of Article 26, paragraph 1 of the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act (Gaikokukawase-oyobi-Gaikokuboeki-Ho, Law No.228 of 1949, Japan), shall not be regarded as being controlled by Japanese physical persons. They shall have sufficient experience in the design, manufacture, installation and sale of the required equipment and provision of required services both in Japan and overseas. Joint ventures shall be permitted where all members of the joint venture meet the eligibility criteria stated in the tender document.

Bidders shall not be debarred by the Government of Japan and/or by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) from participating in bidding exercises.

*1 Cote d’Ivoirian companies shall be accepted as eligible bidders, as long as the company meet the eligibility criteria stated in the tender document.
